Brand new Yamaha Fazer 8 will be known as 2011 FZ8’s cousin. It features new sporty semi-fairing, while the reliable and punchy engine is remaining the same. Chassis is based on the successful FZ1 platform, which has proven itself well during the last few years.
It is a perfect sports bike with huge versatility – it provides savage power, crisp handling and exceptional driving experience day in and day out. And it has impeccable looks and comfort of the well built cruiser bike. It’s certainly a motorcycle that you will be proud to own.
With the huge gap between 600cc and 1 liter bikes Yamaha Fazer 8 managed to find perfect balance of both. It has maneuverability, speed, power, comfort and decent fuel economy. And it actually is the best of both worlds.
The design commands respect and at the same time it’s an eye candy. And if you choose white color bike will look very formal and classy, you can be driving it to your office even if you are the manager of your company, and it will not hurt your “image”, because Fazer 8 looks admirable and royal. Black and Blue colors are great as well, but they give totally different overall picture – sporty and freestyle, if you wish.
All new, 779cc, DOHC, 16 valve (4-valves/cyl), liquid-cooled, 40 degree inclined, in-line four-cylinder engine now provides plenty of low to mid range torque with strong but linear throttle response. Its innovational crankshaft has been optimized to achieve powerful torque over a broad rpm range as well as immediate throttle response.
Figures are impressive as well:
Maximum torque – 82.0Nm @ 8000 rpm and power ~105bhp (78.1kW) @ 10,000 rpm.
Specifically designed, new and compact multi-plate clutch ensures smooth and easy engagement. The clutch provides riders with light lever pull for excellent comfort. That is especially true for stop-and-go city usage.
Engineers reported that the high rigidity and low weight of the new chassis, are providing outstanding high-speed stability and great cornering capabilities. The wheels of the Yamaha Fazer 8 are five-spoke cast aluminium rims – the front tire is 120/70 ZR17, and the rear is the 180/55 ZR17. This allows riders to experience outstanding grip and cornering performance, as well as the extremely satisfying feel of the bike.
Another important factor is the riding position. It was made sporty but comfortable, with a seat height of 815mm and a narrow tank which gives the rider neat ground access. Seat itself was made with great care and is very comfortable and soft, which ensures that the rider will not get any back aches from long ride. In addition, Yamaha Fazer’s steering is quick and responsive. Extended 33 degree steering angle makes tight U-turns and peak-hour traffic riding so much easier.
Price for this creation is $10,999 (approximately Rs. 5,00,000), which sounds like very appealing offer. Anyways, Yamaha Fazer will be soon amazingly popular, because it is one of the best “all around” bikes on the market right now.
Yamaha may launch this bike in India within a few years but there is no sign of it until now. If they do, price will come to Rs.10 lakhs due to the 110% import duty by the govt.
I would love to own this beauty… do you?
